Bodie

Here is a collection of photos from a fall visit to the eastern California ghost town of Bodie, high up in the mountains. In the late 1800's it was a bustled mining town of several thousand, but now it is in "arrested decay" and maintained by the California park service. I thought this was a great opportunity to convert some of the pictures to black and white, so I tweaked a recipe in Adobe Lightroom to look as close to the Kodak high speed infrared film look, which I used to shoot quite a bit in the late 1990's, as you can see in my black and white infrared gallery here. The original color versions are also shown.
